Your nitro RC car works in a very similar fashion to your normal car. This means that all the precautions and cleanliness measures which are taken for your normal car have to be done with your RC car as well. Knowing the basic maintenance rules of a nitro RC car will lengthen its life and keep it in good shape for years to come.

Although nitro engines can be a bit problematic in its setting up than the electric ones, they do allow some adjusting in the engine which can enhance the car's performance. The air/fuel mixture which is used to run these engines can be adjusted in the carburetor according to the driving conditions.

The 'lean' mixture has less of the fuel while the 'rich' mixture has more of it; small adjustments to it will fine tune the driving but the right balance has to be maintained otherwise the engine can get damaged.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the components of this car are similar to that of the normal car, which means, that this car too has an air filter and fuel lines in its engine which must be kept scrupulously clean to ensure its smooth running.

The air filter in a nitro RC car has similar functions to that of any normal car to keep the engine debris and dirt-free. For this to happen, the filter itself has to be kept clean or dust and dirt will clog it and it will be unable to keep the engine in smooth operating condition. Likewise, the fuel lines should not be clogged as they may obstruct the running of the engine and the engine can cut out.

Thus, the same procedure of car maintenance has to be followed to ensure a smooth and long-lasting working nitro RC car.
